12:00am - 12:00am

Radio Art Zone

With our regular broadcasters on their summer holidays, we go live to the Radio Art Zone, the 100-day radio art festival curated by Knut Aufermann and Sarah Washington realised as part of Esch2022, European Capital of Culture. Today, till 11am: Jogi Hofmüller – Satellite Concert. Jogi Hofmüller performs a live sonification of every satellite whose radio signal could theoretically be received from Esch during his 22 hour show. Together all the satellites form an invisible orchestra, each playing their part for the few minutes it takes them to cross the sky above us before fading away again. At 11am we join the daily À table! till 1pm, when a new 22 hour show starts: Therapeutische Hörgruppe Köln – Squelch 'n' Squirrel. An extended continuum of short wave signals constructed from scanning stations and vast frequency voids. Recorded in real time as a multichannel installation – space within space – with the addition of a centered Esoeder (sound sculpture by Therapeutische Hörgruppe).
