[Repeated from Monday 1pm.] Magazine programme with Tim Hamilton, addressing issues which affect pensioners across London. This week: national pensioners’ charity, Age UK, highlights the value of its work with the example afforded by pensioner, Iris, who contacted the Age UK Advice Line with her worries. Iris was able to secure Attendance Allowance, Pension Credit and Winter Fuel Payment. She is now able to put the heating on when she needs it and shop for nutritious food. Age UK also shares that filmmaker Harvey Marcus has produced a documentary, Waterloo Sunset, shining a light on a community of older people living in the heart of London at Hopton’s Almshouses. Our further musical tribute is to Max Romeo who was a Jamaican reggae and roots reggae recording musician, and to Jesse Colin Young who was an American folk singer and songwriter.
