Listen. Let's TalkHighlight

A weekly show hosted by urbanist Donald Hyslop. Today: Last year Donald talked with Özge Dursun from KÖPRÜ, an NGO working on creative projects with Syrian refugees in Şanlıurfa, Southern Turkey. From this conversation emerged a project to create a number of radio programmes about their work, to be broadcast on this show in partnership with Rozana Radio. Rozana was established by broadcasters and journalists who had to flee the Syrian Civil War and transmits from the city of Gaziantep to eight million people across the region. The field work recording for the project was scheduled to take place in Gaziantep next week. On Monday two huge earthquakes in the region brought devastation to an area the size of Portugal in Southern Turkey, an area with ten cities with over one million inhabitants, including Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa. With the project now postponed for a while, Donald was however able to connect with colleagues this week and discuss the situation.
