12:00am - 12:00am

Radio Art Zone

With our regular broadcasters on their summer holidays, we go live to the Radio Art Zone, the 100-day radio art festival curated by Knut Aufermann and Sarah Washington realised as part of Esch2022, European Capital of Culture. Today, till 11am: Julien Clauss & Emma Loriaut – Modulation. Julien Clauss and Emma Loriaut send this year’s edition of their participative micro-radio project, Modulation, live from the Pyrenees, where participants produce experimental music, sound poetry, radio art, and anything else that can fit into a mixer or a microphone to portable radios brought by the visiting public into the vicinity of a small mountaintop transmitter. At 11am we join the daily À table! till 1pm, when a new 22 hour show starts: Erwin Stache – Ich höre Stimmen – irgendwo / I hear voices – somewhere. Erwin Stache takes over the algorithms of some of his existing sound installations such as string box matrix, ground socket organ, and time and sound which he will play in real time to create an acoustic summary of 22 works. Moments of sound turn into a meditative listening experience – each hour starts quickly and ends slowly.

Dream Stream weaves together field recordings, voice, fragments of text, visualisations, stories, performance, and archive materials in a sonic contemplation of inner/outer landscapes. The sound of water is a thread across the duration. From that constantly shifting 'surface', other sound worlds emerge and recede in a transient dream-like encounter.
