Tomorrow

Saturday 4th October

12:30am - 2:30am

Ebbed Tide

[Repeated from Monday 10pm.] Ebbed Tide is an audio adaptation of a novella written by interdisciplinary artist Byzantia Harlow. It is airing to coincide with her exhibition of the same title at Millbrook Chapel of Rest in Rame, Cornwall. The exhibition includes the sound work alongside a site specific embroidery which illustrates its themes. Ebbed Tide is a historical fiction set across locations in Rame, London and Bermuda. The tidal, rhythmic nature of the ocean is reflected in the circular story, which goes back and forth in time. It considers the weaving of life, death and fate - exploring themes of synchronicity and spirituality. Narration by actor, sound director (and Catholic Priest) Marc Powell, who also contributed to the score. Responsive harp interludes composed and performed by musician Hannah Koegler. Field recordings of the natural environment made at Rame by Harlow and Koegler. Recordings made by Harlow of her Aeolian Harp underscore the piece. The sound work was edited by Harlow and mixed and mastered by musician Ben Vince. This project is funded by Arts Council England and facilitated by Rame Projects, Maker Heights and the Rame Conservation Trust.
