It's My Own Invention

a special film screening on 24 May

South Bank Sound Lab and Resonance FM present It's My Own Invention (2017, 78 minutes) - a new film by William English, the maker of the acclaimed Heated Gloves. It’s My Own Invention is a film portrait of Hugh de la Cruz, who for the last two decades has been compulsively obsessed with the perfection of a perpetual motion machine. Hugh calls it “My Invention” and frequently becomes agitated and impatient about its progress. Nobody will listen to him and if the machine is ever made, the powers that be will certainly want to sabotage it as The Invention will render conventional sources of energy obsolete. With a soundtrack by Dan Wilson, It’s My Own Invention is an extraordinary film from extraordinary film-maker (and Resonance broadcaster) William English, who will be present at this screening.
