Knussen less than opera

October 25th, 2012 · No Comments

Richard Scott hosts The Opera Hour at 4:00pm. This week, Scott talks to opera director Netia Jones about her upcoming productions of Where the Wild Things Are and Higglety Pipplety Pop, Oliver Knussen’s two fantasy operas, both of which will be performed at The Barbican. You can catch The Opera Hour’s host performing too on Monday 29th at King’s Place. Scott takes part in Kill Switch a music and speech event looking at anarchism, biology and space via the ideas of John Cage. Kill Switch is the first in a sequence of events  called Cage Rattling. Cage Rattling is more of a response to Cage’s idea’s than a straightforward homage. Find out more here and buy tickets here.
