The builders are in at the station so it’s mostly repeats today. But not all: on Soundcheck at 8:30pm tonight, James Hodder is joined in the studio by songwriter Luke Ritchie who chats about his latest album The Water’s Edge and performs a live track. The Water’s Edge was produced by Paul Savage (who’s worked with acts such as Arab Strap, Mogwai, Franz Ferdinand and The Phantom Band) at Chem 19 Studios in Glasgow. Five of the tracks feature arrangements by composer Nico Muhly, who has arranged for Sam Amidon, Björk, Grizzly Bear amongst many others. Luke plays the 12 Bar Club on Monday 3rd September in support of Charlie Lankester and The Mojo Killers, who also feature in the programme. Plus hear music and chat from Larkin Poe on touring their latest album Thick As Thieves.
