Six Pillars To Persia – 6:00pm – finds Fari Bradley in conversation with BFI film Curator Shelia Whitaker. They discuss the BFI’s current season of films by two dissident Iranian directors, Jafar Panahi and Mohamed Rasoulof. Both directors are no strangers to controversy and censorship, some of their films are banned in Iran and, indeed, both directors were recipients of six-year prison sentences (plus for Panahi a twenty year ban from writing and filmmaking) for “propagandising” against Iran and participating in a “gathering”. At 6:30pm Naomi Christie hosts Cassette. Cassette looks at the cultural and material use of tapes. From 7:00pm an hour of artless field recordings of urban spaces in Edible Landscapes, tonight’s edition of Edible Landscape was largely recorded at the British Museum.
