And over the next few days

February 6th, 2008 · No Comments

Its totally uninteresting to say there’s some “interesting” content on Resonance FM over the next few days. When has Resonance FM ever been anything less than “interesting”? Resonance FM is always stimulating and at worst its perplexing, but between Thursday and Monday we have a buffet of intriguing nuggets, morsels and wafers on offer. See below.

Thursday Feb 7thAmenity Space 01:00 – 02:00pm. Audio Architecture: Tony Broomhead and Nicky Kirk profile the HearWear Project – in which 20 of Britain’s best designers were commissioned by Blueprint magazine and the RNID to create new products to enhance, protect and augment human hearing. Clear Spot 08:00 – 09:00pm. Comedians Paul Foot, Tiffany Stevenson and Matt Early will be joining producer/director Graeme Holmes for a big shambolic comedy and music chat. Holmes is directing these three funny people in a new avant-garde sitcom / stand-up hybrid show, Crash Pad, showing fortnightly on Sunday afternoons at the Arts Theatre, Great Newport Street WC2H.
They will also be joined by cutesy acoustic duo You & Me. Friday Feb 8th Small Pool Room, two cuts 03:30 – 04:00pm. Vintage sound FX on Shellac and wax-cylinder. Presented by Aleks Kolkowski. Saturday Feb 9th OST 04:30 – 06:30pm. Every week Johny Trunk presents an enormously popular quiz featurette within OST, the format of the quiz is not unlike Blankety Blank. A puzzle is set based on the theme of each show, so if the show is Spielberg soundtracks Mr.Trunk might invite listeners to complete the following incomplete sentence “Raiders Of The Lost -”. What ensues is the Resonance FM phone system goes into meltdown and hundreds of OST listeners call in. One of the people responsible for this telephonic entropy is Rebecca Aged 5, and wee Rebecca is OST’s guest star this Saturday. She may be barely old enough for school yet every week Rebecca calls in with a pithy answer. This edition looks certain to be nuts.Sunday Feb 10th On the Fringe 04:00 – 05:00pm. Weekly review of London’s Off West End theatre circuit . Featuring reviews, interviews, guests and news. This afternoon On The Fringe interviews representatives of the Drill Hall and Watermans on the results of their appeal against the Art Council’s cuts. Plus performed extracts from Dinner (Brockly Jack) and The Merchant of Venice (Greenwich Playhouse). This week’s reviews: Mile End (Southwark Playhouse), A Prayer for My Daughter (Young Vic), Adam and Steve (Hen and Chickens) and Tom Crean: Antarctic Explorer (New End Theatre). With Claire Cooke, Gary Horsman and Raidene Carter. Monday Feb 11th Creature Curious 02:00 – 03:00pm. A weekly dose of zoology presented by Bridget Nichols. Today Bridget is in conversation with Lang Elliot who wrote and recorded – The Song of Insects – a definitive sound guide to singing insects.
