Ben Thompson writes: Of all the illustrious guests The London Ear has been lucky enough to entice into the studio, there is none whose name causes more of a frisson than this week’s. Whether you know him as the most talented singer-songwriter of the 21st century, the owner of the most lustrous beard in pop, or the man who played the father of the little girl who fell down the well in The Jessica McClure Story, there’s no doubt that Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy will have touched your life in some significant way. And on Tuesday’s show (20 January at 2pm) he will not only be performing an exclusive acoustic session, but also accompanying Ben Thompson on an hour long hike through the snow-covered peaks and grassy lowlands of his 16 year musical career.

Indeed, paplindsey, people do work here. There are copyright issues with putting the BPB special up for download on the Resonance site, but I am trying to get a benevolent third party to resolve them, and should have the show accessible within the next month or so. Watch this space.

Many apologies that it’s taken me so long to get this info to those who once needed it, but this hour long show can now be accessed via the excellent speechification portal. Try http://speechification.com/?s=Bonnie+Prince+Billy+&key= or if that doesn’t work go to http://www.speechification.com and search for Bonnie Prince Billy. While I have a sort of captive audience could I also announce the return of the London Ear at the new time of 4-5pm on Wednesdays from September 1st 2010.
