On Wednesday 7 January 2009 at 6pm, on London Diaspora Live! Bindu Chander interviews Vivi Lachs and Pete Watson. Vivi Lachs is the leading light of the Klezmer Klub, an eclectic mix of musicians based in London who pay wild and tender klezmer dance music and perform feisty, moving and humorous Yiddish songs. Pete Watson plays the music of Romanian ‘cafe concerts’ with a group called the Marama Caffe Band. Both musicians will be accompanied by their own accordionist, encapsulating the spirit of Balkan music in two different styles. London Diaspora Live is produced by Cultural Co-operation.
