Ben Thompson welcomes a very special guest to this week’s London Ear. In the course of her three albums for Rephlex, X-L and Warp, maverick North London writer-producer Leila Arab has redefined the possibilities of British electronic pop. Today she’ll be talking about her collaborations with the likes of Bjork, Terry Hall and Martina Topley-Bird, playing some of her favourite tunes (including an Aphex Twin number at the wrong speed), and letting us hear an exclusive 15 minute mixdown of surrealist soundbites. Interesting show – I missed the part, however, where Leila named the version of Rite of Spring that moved her so much. Can anyone tell me that?
