This evening’s edition of Adventures in Modern Music at 8:00pm finds Derek Walmsley and Edwin Pouncey taking an historical overview of the Los Angeles Free Music society, the ad hoc collective of DIY musicians and instrument-inventors who coalesced around the Poo-Bah record store in the late 1970s. Walmsley and Pouncey examine the connections between the L.A freak scene of the past and contemporary noise culture.
