A major new series Frequency Oz: An On Air Festival of Australian Radio Art begins this Sunday, 5 September, at 9pm. It is curated by Colin Black. Programme One (duration 59:30) comprises audio features on The Australian Broadcasting Commission’s (ABC) 1934 “Synthetic Cricket” (ABC Archives); an interview with Colin Black; Jack Ellitt’s “Journey # 1” (Artefacts Of Australian Experimental Music: 1930 – 1973. Shame File Music SHAM050, CD, 2007); and Ros Bandt’s “Mungo” (The Listening Room: Beta. Sydney: ABC Music, Australian Broadcasting Corporation 4797612, CD, 1994). Introduced by Yanna Black.
