We are saddened by the untimely death of Robert Sandall, perhaps best known for his work as the co-anchor (with Mark Russell) of BBC Radio 3′s influential “Mixing It” series. An energetic and enthused person, always busy, informed and stimulating company, Robert was very supportive of the work of London Musicians’ Collective and an admirer of Resonance104.4fm. After “Mixing It’ was dropped by the BBC, he and Mark enthusiastically did some shows for us under the title “Where’s the Skill in That” – maintaining their often prickly on-air banter and displaying their increasingly wide-ranging tastes – before Robert’s poor health required them to suspend these broadcasts.
As a tribute to Robert we are broadcasting an edition of “Where’s the Skill in That” today at 1pm. It dates from July 2007.

Nice tribute by Duncan Stephen (http://doctorvee.co.uk/2010/07/21/robert-sandall/) – though I do think he has given up on music radio prematurely.
