Jonny Mugwump & The Exotic Pylon tonight features a live DJ set from Raffertie who manages to pull the most incredible abstract structures and shapes with post-rave electronic music whilst entirely avoiding the muso-silliness of the drill’n'bass crew – in other words it’s wildly inventive, bent out of shape but its big heart still beats on the heart of the dancefloor. Then a derive into the ocean-night with ex-Slowdive guitarist Simon Scott. Simon (who released his towering debut album Navigare on Miasmah last year) specialises in eerie soundscapes and a dark ambience that is as visceral as it is adrift. Plus improvisatory explorations with Isnaj Dui and Konntinnent.
