This evening’s Clear Spot focuses on the work of the late experimental composer Tristram Cary. We present material from the recent retrospective concert at the Royal College of Music in London. Cary was a prolific composer of scores and cues for film and television. Notable works being his early work on Doctor Who soundtracks and films like the classic Ealing comedy The Ladykillers. However the works presented here celebrate Cary as a seminal electronics and tape composer and include works for computer, VCS3 synthesizer and musique concrete works derived from recordings of steam mechanisms.
Clear Spot 8:00 – 9:00pm, March 3rd 2010.

I’m sorry to have missed this, as I find his work very exciting. His contribution to music is of tremendous importance, much as with similar electronic pioneers like Delia Derbyshire.
