Radio 1812 is an international audio initiative to celebrate UN International Migrants’ Day both prior to and after December 18th . This is the third year that Resonance FM have been invited to take part through the auspices of DJ Debbie in connection with African Essence. This year’s show although closely aligned with African Essence’s theme of profiling the UK’s, especially London’s, dynamic African arts scene will also look at wider matters. DJ Debbie and her guests Ghanaian AFLA SACKEY from fast rising Afro big band AFRIK BAWANTU and Danish MIA ESKELUND from the SOAS Detainees Support Group and an a African ex detainee, will celebrate the arts and migration and will also look at how the arts, especially music, can make an impact on keeping Human Rights in the forefront.
