Tonight’s Clear Spot is “A Week at The Klinker” with William Golding. It explores London’s longest running and most diverse and experimental performance nights. Now in its 27th year, The Klinker is the brain child of guitarist and film-maker Hugh Metcalfe – joined here by artists Alan Wilkinson, Jonny Blamey, The A-band, Vindicatrix, Matt Scott, Tim Fletcher, Ben Watson, Adam Bohman and John Edwards in a celebration of the unusual. The Klinker presents everything from improvised music to absurdist rhymes, electronic sculptures to wailing chainsaws – providing a space for performers of all kinds. William Golding spent a randomly chosen week going to whatever Klinker gigs happened to be running to try to document the vividly explosive experiences they created for this hour of truly enthused expressivity.
