Chinese opera and the Camden Fringe Festival are two of the highlights of Wednesday evening on Resonance FM.

For one hour at 6pm, London Diaspora Live takes a look at Chinese opera. Highly refined and visually stunning in character, Jingju and Kunqu are artforms rich in complex poetry and symbolism.

Kathy Hall, founder of the London Jing Kun Opera association, will be talking about the work that she and her team of accomplished performers and educators are doing to promote and demystify Jingju and Kunqu opera. The show will feature live excerpts from some of the most well-known passages in the Chinese opera repertoire.

At 8pm writer, poet, raconteur Guy J Jackson presents a Clear Spot that previews the Camden Fringe Festival. The Camden Fringe takes place between the 28th of July and 24th of August. In this show Guy’s guests include Etcetera Theatre, The Crescent Theatre Workshop, Joe Hakim, Mike Watts, and many others… Guy also has a one-man show in the fringe. The Filthy Pilgrim runs from July 30th to August 2nd at Liberties, 100 Camden High Street… visit camdenfringe.org for further information.
